Carrie was a force of nature - bold, loud, and unafraid to speak exactly what's on her mind. Whether sharing laughter with the family, or chiming in out of the blue when silence was expected, she lived apologetically and with an open heart. Her greater passion and love was reserved for her children, but still enjoyed spending time with family regardless of the occasion. Family wasn't the only thing she enjoyed, she also kept her mind open to learning new knowledge, both useful and "useless" but made sure to share it with friends and family as well. She also enjoyed spending much of her time outside, and made sure the rest of us did as well!
We often joked with her, saying she was off to another adventure with loved ones in tow. To show our appreciation and acknowledgement of this, we have made "Kindness" Rocks to spread across each state we visit to keep her spirit in adventure alive. If you wish to know more about them, please click here.
The Kindness Rocks were also created to show our love for how creative she was. She was often observed creating art in many forms. Two such forms were knitting, and/or crocheting. This was also one of the ways she showed love to others, such as friends and family. She especially loved crocheting sweaters, blankets, and oddly enough wash cloths. Oh boy, did those come in handy! She also was a huge fan of the "Color by Numbers" books / sheets. That said, she often also looked for projects for herself and the kids to do in order to pass the time. There was NEVER a downtime in the household for showing creativity, and is greatly missed. That said, the kids picked up their mother's passion for knowledge and creativity, and are just as much eager to share as Carrie was.
In the end, regardless of life's events, Carrie's heart belonged to her family, and to the great outdoors. She had a special place reserved however for the West Coast area of Oregon. In 2023 she marked off one of the very few items on her bucket list, and that was to share the same "first experience" she felt for the first time, with her Husband and kids. Within the final few months, she often thought of the friends and family first before herself - putting the needs and well-beings of them before her own, no matter how she felt.
Her spirit, generosity, and thunderous personality will echo forever in the hearts of all who she left a lasting impression with. We love you Carrie, with all our heart.
